TAEKWONDO GRADES and GRADINGS

Training is broadly structured around key syllabus elements according to the grade that each student is at. Gradings are four times a year and allow students to demonstrate their proficiency in those syllabus elements. Students who demonstrate the required proficiency are awarded the next grade and receive a Certificate.

A student’s current grade is indicated by the colour of the belt that they wear.

Each grading requires students to perform to a good standard in:

  1. The relevant Poomsae (a sequence of moves specific to their grade),

  2. Individual techniques associated with their grade,

  3. One-step sparring,

  4. No-contact free sparring
