TAI CHI FORM VIDEOS

Tai Chi forms comprise intricate, three-dimensional, motion that is very difficult to consistently catch in sufficient detail using a video camera. Many of the important elements in performing a Tai Chi move are not apparent to a casual observer as there are crucial shifts in weight and pressure, and timings are set in relation to breathing. For these reasons it is not possible to learn correct tai chi from videos. You really need to learn the correct performance of moves face to face with a skilled instructor.

So the purpose of these videos is not to teach you the moves. The purpose of these videos is to remind you of the sequence of the moves. Tai Chi forms can have upto 83 moves and can take 15 minutes to perform, so forgetting the sequence of moves is very much part of learning Tai Chi. You will get lost and stuck reasonably regularly. Referencing these videos should help you when that happens.
